Diocesan Altar Guild Festival Set Jan. 26
The Diocesan Altar Guild will host a festival on Saturday, January 26th, 2008 at The Cathedral Church of the Advent from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All are invited as we explore "The symbolism and traditions of the Episcopal Church as they relate to altar guild"
The Rev. Canon Heidi Kinner will celebrate the Eucharist taking her homily from Ps 43:3 and 4 expanding on "the altar guilds' role in preparing the people to worship". The Rev. Alison Carmody will facilitate a workshop on: Demystifying linens and hangings; their symbolism, use and care. Maloy Love, Mountain Brook Florists, will demonstrate liturgical floral arranging sharing how color and flower selection can add special meaning to the worship service.
Proceeds will benefit the sanctuary in the new chapel at Camp McDowell.
